My August Obsessions ft. Cocotique

Hello lovelies!

I have tons to update you on and more to come now that I am back in America and gearing up for my senior year of college.

For starters, it's time to announce a new little series where I share with you all:
My Monthly Obsessions

So if you're looking for new products to try, need a good workout song, looking for new clothing pieces, or just other things to obsess over, make sure to stay tuned for more monthly obsessions girlfriends.

I arrived home to this lovely little box waiting for me totally filled with new products to try.

Have you heard of Cocotique? If you haven't, you are about to discover a box of wonders. This fab beauty box has been featured in Lucky Magazine and Essence to name a few.

Cocotique is a monthly subscription box service for women of color and different ethnicities. Each month, you'll receive 5-8 deluxe sample size and full size beauty and lifestyle products for just $20 in addition to Free Shipping. After trying the products, you are welcome to purchasing them on the Cocotique shop.

It's a box full of beauty surprises at the beginning of each month. Like, can it get any better?!

Raise your hand if you've got a makeup, beauty, and hair product obsession with ethnic hair and skin type to match!

*Raises All Limbs*

This beauty subscription box differs from others because it caters to girls with unique features including Dominican curly hair like mine.

My Beauty Obsessions from their August Box :)
Retail Price: $9.99

The My DNA Defining Custard has changed the leaving my hair natural game completely. As previously established, my hair cannot be tamed. I'm sure Miley Cyrus was talking about my hair and not her in that song. Not only does it smell like a tropical paradise but it defines my natural curls and keeps them controlled with this summer heat.

Retail Price: $5.49

What do you do when you must renew your license picture at the DMV after turning 21 and have a huge zit as an accessory the night before? PUT THIS AMAZING PRODUCT ON IT. I'm a person who goes to the Dermatologist and normally uses something prescribed but it doesn't have the immediate impact as a product like this. I literally saw the zit go from the size of Texas to gone the next day. Thank you Zapzyt.

Retail Price: $26.00

I saw this in my box and didn't really have any idea as to what I could use it for. I even saw it on Pinterest and wondered what all the popularity for it was. Little did I know how in handy it would come. What happens when you love pizza so much? You get too excited and burn yourself making it in the process. Well, thankfully I had this little gem to put on my scar and it's healing my skin so nicely! What are it's other magical powers? Try using it as a lip balm, face cream, hair masque, or any other problems that may come...like burning yourself making pizza.

Retail Price: $38.00

To all my makeup addicts: buy this. Not only did I see Carli Bybel raving about it in one of her latest videos, it's an awesome primer. I'm very loyal to my foundations and primers and this is definitely a new favorite. With more events and outings approaching, this is going to be my go-to for minimizing my pores. You could also use it as another breakout remedy at night. Who doesn't love a multi-purpose product?!

Back to Basics | New Hair + Summer Slim Down Series

Although it's summer and most gals like to lighten up their hair, it's time for me to head back to the dark side....being a brunette that is ;D

My hair needed some major TLC after surviving a lot of sun and highlighting with only more to come. I darkened my hair a bit but still have those blonde highlights perfect for summer!

Now that I am back at home, I am in MAJOR need of focusing on working out and getting my body back in shape for the summer.

Do you ever feel like you just completely lost touch with your routine or body? That's how I feel at the moment and definitely gained a few pounds after eating my way through Europe.

Thankfully, I am more motivated than ever to work off those pounds :D

As of late, I have started getting back into the gym and will be reviewing Skinny Teatox and see if it matches up to all its de-bloating and cleansing glory!

Are you ready for my Summer Slim Down Series?

Fall Into Style: New Hair, Don't Care

They say when a girl changes her hair, she's ready to change her life...or something like that.
I am accepting change as it comes in my life and embracing it completely.
I love experimenting with my hair and wanted to keep my lighter locks from the summer.
So, I opted for a dark chocolate brown that faded into the light brown/blond hair color I had this summer.

I got to go home and enjoy the beautiful leaves, quietness, and luxury of not having to pump gas.
(I'm a Jersey Girl, what do you expect?)
Apart from spending time with my family and enjoying the craziness that is my family, I got to take some pics in my lovely yard that is adorned in leaves.

Necklace: Armed and Readi

Boots: JustFab

Thanks to my 7 year old kid brother and ability to take pictures (future photographer in the making)!
Let's cut to my OOTD:
My go-to look these days? Leggings, boots, cardigans, and statement jewelry.
Super easy. Super fast.
I like to call this my lazy day outfit.  Yes, my lazy day outfit.
To some this may be trying too hard, but I'd like to think I can jazz it up a bit more.

P.S. It's almost Halloween and I'm totally DIYing this year...we'll see what I come up with ;)

xoxo,
