I don't know if it was the countless hours of watching Carrie Bradshaw grace the streets of New York City in her Manolos or flipping through editorials in fashion magazines in high school but somewhere along the way, I dreamt about the idea of working in fashion. You should always know what you're passionate about. Thus, I cannot deny my love of shoes, shopping, and dressing up without needing an excuse to do so.
As my college career progresses, interning is becoming an important task to accomplish before graduation. Lately, I find myself sending countless resumés and emails in hopes of getting an interview from some of the most prestigious fashion houses and companies in the city.
I have recently been given the opportunity to interview for a popular and upcoming blog as a Public Relations intern. You would expect for me to worry about the interview process or questions but instead my first thought was:
What on earth am I going to wear?!
After much deliberation, I styled a professional and functional outfit that not only expresses my own personal style, but also encompasses the bright, vibrant aura of this upcoming summer.
Dress: Cynthia Rowley Cardigan: Forever 21 |
Arm Candy: Michael Kors Watch in Rose Gold, Alex and Ani Bangle in Rafaelian Gold |
As a business major and a daughter of two entrepreneurs, it's only natural to aspire to have my own business. Ultimately, I want an empire. Not the Queen Elizabeth II kind, more like the Lauren Conrad or Kimora Lee Simmons kind (although I wouldn't mind being related to the fabulous Kate Middleton).
Do you think it's far-fetched? It definitely is.
Will it be hard and a lot of work? Of course.
Do you think that will stop me? Not one bit.
Congratulations on your personal road to success. Far-fetched, yes, hard work, yes, do-able, yes! Your maturity will lead you to being a great representation for women! Many blessings.
