Summer Travel Must-Haves + Tips
Vera Bradley Grand Traveler |
1. A cute and spacious carry-on
2. A selfie stick
Don't underestimate the power of selfie stick and it being able to get a picture of yourself in front of a monument or a mosque in Morocco. I had never wished more that a selfie stick seller was bothering me in Morocco to buy one. Regrets.
3. ALOE, ALOE, and ALOE
What happens when you lay in the sun off of the coast of Africa? You turn into a tomato or lobster or variation of a Mac lipstick. Whatever is more red. Ouch.

4. A cute bathing suit
Bringing bathing suits that you can mix and match are gold. I was in France and this just screamed, 'Merica. I loved it.

5. A maxi skirt
The power of a maxi skirt is definitely underestimated. You can dress it up by wearing a nice top, heels or wedges, or pulling it a bit more to accent your waist. Want something more casual? Just throw on a cute flow top, some sandals, and you are good to go!
6. Sunglasses and a book
I got these wannabe Ray-Bans at H&M and absolutely love them. Cheap sunglasses are awesome and won't hurt your soul if you accidentally break them or sit on them like I normally do. I also highly recommend this book by John Green called An Abundance of Katherines. Super funny and a good read for a beach day. Just don't fall asleep reading it so you don't look like a lobster like moi.
7. Day to night outfits
Leather leggings are my go-to for an outfit that goes day to night. Change your top to one with sequins and throw on a pair of heels and you are ready to party! Or dance on table like I did with my friend at Wayne's Bar in France.
8. Goofy selfie poses
Because taking selfies while traveling are a must. Especially cheesy ones.
9. An appetite
Traveling means indulging in food. Girl, enjoy. After your vacation, you can then work on burning those calories. Check out my workout routine for tips on how I burn off all of my nutella-crepe-pizza-filled calories, here!
10. A sense of adventure
Be spontaneous and enjoy every single part of it!
